The Green Blue Conference 2010

Tom Cunliffe

The Green Blue’s Annual Conference, to be held in Glasgow on 9 of October, is supported this year by GTG Training and Scottish Natural Heritage.

The programme, packed with high quality speakers, will arm delegates with practical information on how to save energy and resources at their facility, whilst saving money in the process.

The conference is aimed at anyone who works within the recreational marine industries such as marinas, boatyards, and training centres whether inland or coastal based and it will also prove useful to those who are active in their local sailing and yacht clubs.

Tom Cunliffe, writer, broadcaster and renowned sailor, will be giving the key note address and Stuart McMillan, MSP, will draw the conference to a close. Delegates will have the opportunity to learn more about grants available for environmental initiatives in clubs, marinas and businesses and hear about the latest developments in marine legislation and wildlife crime.

Workshops will include sessions on energy efficiency, invasive species and the economics of recreational boating. GTG Training will also be running PowerPoint and health and safety workshops so you can boost key business skills and improve environmental performance at the same time!

The cost for attending is £30 for RYA and BMF members and £40 for non-members, which includes refreshments, lunch and delegate pack. A social event is planned for the evening of the 8th and The Green Blue has negotiated special rates with local hotels.
