And The Winner Is...

Check-Clean-Dry logoBack in the summer we teamed up with Defra to promote their new Check-Clean-Dry campaign, which aims to stop the spread of aquatic non-native invasive species (NNIS). Aquatic NNIS cost the UK economy £102million every year to clean up and what’s more they can unfortunately spread around the coast by hitching a ride on our boats.

But there are measures that boaters can take to reduce this spread and so we launched a joint competition at the PSP Southampton Boat to raise awareness of the problem and explain how to avoid spreading these marine nasties.

Up for grabs was a Panasonic Lumix FT3 underwater camera and the first person drawn out of the hat for correctly answering the question “What are the three steps to stop the spread of non-native invasive species?” was Nicola Burgess from Cheshire.

And the answer was of course Check-Clean-Dry   Well done Nicola!
