The pioneering Contessa 32 Calypso to go on sale
Ebay classified add up now

In 2010 The Green Blue got involved
in what turned out to be an incredibly beautiful boat.
The brief in itself was simple. To see how green a brand new
Contessa 32 could be.
The Calypso project, a
collaborative journey between The Green Blue and Jeremy Rogers Ltd,
provided a unique opportunity to build a bespoke yacht while
exploring new products and technology to improve the environmental
impact of the boat and the sailing experience. Some of
these products are available to read about in our Green Directory.
Calypso was fitted with a hybrid
diesel / electric engine to reduce CO2 emissions
and cut down the dependance on fossil fuels. She also used an
alternative to teak decking called Kebony. This product is
made from FSC Maple and reduces the dependancy on hard
wood. Various ISO14001 accredited suppliers were used, such
as Garmin and Sanders Sails to ensure that wherever possible the
companies contributing to this project were doing their bit for the
environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity to
own a beautiful, unique boat. Truly one of a kind and a fine
example of how sustainable we can be whilst out on the
water. Click

fantastic boat.
